About the images...

The quality of many of the images, especially in this first menu group, is less than desirable.  Most images, especially in the first group, are from slides that are forty-five to fifty-five years old, and it is remarkable that the results you see are as good as they are.  In some cases images are a bit heavy on contrast, sharpening and/or noise, but this was necessary to bring out more of the original image.  Some of the images probably should not be included, but the subject material is too unique not to include.  Not all images will be of interest to everyone, but I tried not to do too much filtering and chose to include as many images as I thought might be of interest to at least some.  Truth be told, some of the images will likely not be of interest to anyone other than Mary Lynn and me.

Some of the displayed images are what appear to be in B&W instead of in color.  However, all slides were originally in color, and it is only due to the deterioriation of the slide material that has resulted in some images appearing as B&W image.  In some cases it was best to remove all color in an image to give the best image possible.  Not only was color affected, but the deterioriation also shows in the numerous black lines, streaks and black and white dots that appear in many of the images.  I've cleaned these up as best I could but some slides really had a lot of deterioriation.  Unfortunately, the slides were stored outside in a storage area where the temperture was very hot, and I did not realize the damage the heat was doing to the slides.  Never gave it a thought.  However, that being said, I was able to salvage most of the slides, and with, in some cases, extensive editing, I was able to produce acceptable results.

It should be noted that images in other menu groups, especially from more recent times, the image quality if significantly better than in the first group.  Still, many of the slides are many years old and  suffer from similar deterioration with dots and lines.  Whenever practical these additional artifacts have been removed or at least minimized.

Slides will advance automatically unless either of the two navigation buttons is pressed.  Once pressed, the auto slideshow feature is disabled and navation buttons must then be used for that slideshow.  If the window is refreshed, the slideshow will restart from the beginning with auto advance.  Selecting a new slideshow will reactivate the auto advance feature.
